ELYK INC. respects your ability to make informed choices about the collection and uses of your personal information. We recognize the privacy of individuals with respect to their personal information. As such, we have developed the following privacy policy.
What Information Do We Collect and Why?
The information we receive from you when you register for any of ELYK INC. services helps us to identify you and ensure that only YOU see private information pertaining to your accounts. This information is taken to protect your account with us and to allow us to respond to enquiries, questions and comments with ease. This includes your full name, address, business name, email address and password and username. Our websites and web stores such as Merchant Zone Online, also automatically collect other information such as your IP address, if you are a registered user or not, what items you viewed or purchased and navigational information. This information is available to the individual account holders of Merchant Zone Online as it pertains to their account only. (For example: the owner of a company is using Merchant Zone Online to showcase and sell his/her products.) Merchant Zone Online is collecting IP addresses, registration information of users to the store, items viewed and/or purchased, registration information to allow delivery of product, and supplying the account holder of Merchant Zone Online with this information as it pertains only to his/her account and company. This information just lets him/her know if the store is generating sales and traffic for them, and what products are most popular. It does not tell the account holder who a site visitor is or any additional information, unless they register when purchasing a product or are requesting additional information about a product or service. In which case such information is needed (name, address, business name, phone number, email address) to allow the best and most reliable delivery information and to allow a response to be sent to you. Information is only accessible by the password holder in each company. Cookies pertaining to login information are kept to allow you to better move through the system. There are no credit card transactions done through Merchant Zone Online or any other of ELYK INC. services. They are all handled through an online payment system such as Paypal.
When Is This Information Obtained? Information is obtained during account registration and/or during preliminary stages of the service to request of us. Many times when we are developing a customized system, we will need information to further fit our software to your company. This is always a joint effort between us and our clients and helps us to build the best software for you. How Long are Files/Information/Comments Kept? Upon service termination and nil balance in existing account, information is generally kept for up to a year. This just helps us know your existing history and have a better understanding of what we need to do for you. It saves time and the need to repeat collect already recorded information if a client should wish to renew a service/s. We do however respect your wishes and will be more than willing to instantly terminate all remaining files at your request. We never use them for any purpose other than listed above. How Do We Use the Information We Collect? Any information ELYK INC. collects from you is only collected to help us better serve you and do our job. We never distribute information to third parties and confidentiality is very important to us. As we collect and use information about our customers, we may contract with vendors to assist us in processing that information. (Ex. Domain name registration companies) Having these companies process your web address for example is the only way your web address is considered yours. This is much like a telephone listing. If you do not register, your number wont be seen. These vendors are required to maintain the confidentiality of the information and are restricted from using the information for any purpose other than helping to provide services to ELYK INC. customers. If we decide to use this information for any other purpose than listed in this policy, we must and will obtain your further consent. The information that we collect that is both general and specific will be shared within our organization to perform the activities you've requested. In addition, individual data will be used to understand customer trends and requirements so that we can continue to provide a service that makes it easier for you to do business with us. How Do We Ensure Your Information is Protected?
We have safeguards in place to ensure your personal information is protected. This includes physical means such as locked filing cabinets, security/alarm system, and a security guard on premises. Technological means include storing all database information etc. on a secure server in a locked room with an alarm system. In addition, a password is required to access any information once access to the server is granted. Only employees of ELYK INC. have access to the stored information. Information is never used for any other purpose other than to provide our clients with the best possible service possible. We never distribute information to third parties unless it is needed to further assist you or register you with services we do not provide. In this case, you will know who the company/s are and will have agreed to this transfer of data. How Do I Change/Access My Profile Information?
